Job Description
Title: Medical Analyst, GIC Medical Desk
Location: Delhi, India.
Hours and Travel: Hours are generally office hours on weekdays. However, some out of hours work and weekend work (working on a rotating roster one to two weekends per month) is required. Minimal / no travel.

Interface with Online Medical Content Team
The Medical Analyst, GIC Medical Desk will work under the day-to-day guidance of the Senior Medical Communications Specialist and the Senior Public Health Researcher & Program Supervisor
Content drafted by the Medical Analyst, GIC Medical Desk will be reviewed and approved by the Senior Medical Communications Specialist, Senior Public Health Researcher & Program Supervisor or Deputy Medical Director.
The Medical Analyst, GIC Medical Desk will work in close collaboration with all other analysts (both medical and security) in the GIC. Role Overview:
The Medical Analyst, GIC Medical Desk assists with maintaining, researching, compiling, and writing of medical content for the company\'s Online product suite including but not limited to: the Pandemic Preparedness website, Pandemic Information Service alerts, Country Guides and Medical Alerts. Core Responsibilities:
The Medical Analyst, GIC Medical Desk will be responsible for:
Pandemic Preparedness Website
• Monitoring the news sources, government sources, and other medical sources for medical events or news related to pandemic influenza, including both H1N1 and H5N1 strains.
• If new cases, events or announcements are identified, researching them further using reliable sources, such as CDC, WHO, MOH.
• If reports can be verified, writing and posting directly onto the following sections of the company\'s Pandemic Preparedness website
o News page
o Countries with Cases page
o Country Update page
• Escalating to management if a significant event occurs.
• Drafting content for the Pandemic Information Service emails, or other sections of the website upon request. This content will be submitted for approval before publication.
Medical Alert Monitoring
• Monitoring news sources, government sources, and other medical sources for medical events or news that are of significance to the company\'s members. For example, infectious disease outbreaks such as dengue, yellow fever, meningococcal meningitis etc.
• Researching identified events using reliable sources, such as CDC, WHO, MOH.
• Drafting content for an Medical Alert. This content will be submitted for approval before publication.
Country Guide Maintenance
• Managing the Country Guide Review process, including emailing Country Experts to ask for review, follow up and tracking of reviews, and submitting updated content for approval before posting.
• Checking all non-medical content twice per year, such as cultural tips, embassy information, visas, plugs etc.
• Assisting with mass updates to the medical content on Country Guide pages, for example, if large numbers of vaccination recommendations need to be changed at the same time. This would be done under the direction of the Deputy Medical Director.
Medical Input to Rolling Brief
• Monitoring medical sources for medical events or news related to a specific crisis (initially this is H1N1, but there may be other crises in the future).
• Passing new information to the designated Rolling Brief analyst for inclusion into the combined Medical and Security brief.
• Reviewing and researching medical items identified by Security GIC analysts before they are included in the Rolling Brief.
• Reviewing all medical items on the final rolling brief before it is published.
Other Research Tasks
