 Job Description
Position : General Manager (Commercial) Experience: 15 -18 years experience in Material Management in Fertilizers, petrochemicals, large process industry etc. Experience in execution of large size projects would be an added advantage. Location: Jagdishpur Introduction: IThe company manufactures and markets urea, agricultural seeds and agrochemicals. It aims at providing complete agri solutions to farmers. Over the years, Birla Shaktiman has emerged as the most preferred brand of the agricultural sector.   Job Profile: Responsible for Purchase & Stores department implementing policies and system in line with company’s objectives to minimize cost, optimize Inventory, ensure customer satisfaction for uninterrupted operation of the plant. · To minimize procurement cost on sustainable basis in the competitive environment. · To minimize inventory level by introducing ‘JIT’ concept for maximum items & changing mind set of user’s reluctance for inventory reduction. · To make available spares of plant and machineries which are old and OEM’s inability to provide due to phasing out of such equipments / machineries from their product range. · To resolve emergent situation due to unplanned shutdown / stock outs of certain critical spares due to high consumption. · To adopt newer methods of purchasing through e-commerce / reverse auction, development of required infrastructure, training and motivating Purchase staff and encouraging vendors to adopt & include these practices so as to make system workable. · Liaison with Central Excise, Customs, DGFT & other Govt. authorities related to Purchase & Stores activity to company’s objectives. · Responsible for timely procurement of Raw Materials, Fuels, Packing Bags, Stores & Spares & Project items at optimum cost with minimum lead time to ensure smooth plant operation and internal customer satisfaction. · Responsible for Inventory level v/s norm & interaction with users/suppliers to minimize inventories for achieving lower inventory carrying cost without affecting plant operation · Monitor and review reduction of procurement cost and lead time. · Ensure identification and development of right vendors in consultation with user department for improving quality, cost, delivery and service level of material / services required for improving plant operations. · Ensure and monitor implementation of TPM / ISO / EMS in Purchase & Stores department through involvement of all in Purchase /Stores, for continuous improvement in procurement, handling, storage & other activities. · Build and sustain a conducive work culture in Purchase & Stores deptt. by effecting performance management of people to improve productivity and motivation level. · To ensure requisite liaison for Customs, Excise, DGFT related work in relation to procurement and compliance thereof.
