Job Description
ROLE: The role starts off as a Generalist HR to be based out of CHENNAI Plant with an initial focus on Strategic Recruitment. Additionally, it also encompasses HR policy making related to talent management, HR policy drafting, getting the necessary sanctions & deployment of the same. RELOCATION AFTER 1 YEAR + : The final role that you are being hired for is to lead the HR function for the new greenfield project already confirmed to begin operations in the next 15 – 18 months at any of the 3 possible Auto Hubs of India – Chennai, Pune or Baroda (or any possible location across India). You will need to be open to relocating to the same for sure in the next 18 months maximum. As Chennai is the current corporate headquarters you will be trained, groomed & prepared on their 100 years + proven systems & Policies. Once the new Greenfield starts, you will be there from Day 1 managing the complete HR activities of the plant as the Corporate HR leader. Our client does not envisage any employee across the organization being in the same role for a period of more than 18 – 24 months, many a times not even in the same plant as they could be moved to their shared services or technology centre & with possibilities to their international locations.
Position Responsibilities:
HR Policy formulation: Core member of the HR Team to advise management in creating HR policies & preparation from scratch. Identify & Align the organisation's HR procedures in line with global organizational standards. Benchmark and identify improvement areas. Work closely with business heads on all their HR issues. Based on their inputs recommend to the HR leadership on HR policies to meet business and employee needs for each of the businessdivisions. Drive the integral HR company policies and procedures with a new vision into the future. Shared Services – Systems, Processes & Delivery: Design, Draft & Implement SLAs for key HR processes of the shared services centers across India (Current & Future) to effectively implement efficient HR processes. Improve shared services processes like Vendor payments, TDS, Payrolls, Withdrawal Tax, etc. Provide substantial inputs to management after a detailed evaluation and recommend improvements to the HR related benefit programs across the plant & shared services. Evaluate and recommend human resource outsourcing opportunities during launch phases & programs and identify potential vendors for the same through a systematic approach.
Recruitment, On Boarding & Induction: Create strategic recruitment and selection strategy, Advise HR leadership team on business wise manpower requirements after working closely with business/ division leaders on their manpower requirements based on their business plans. Identify cost saving recruitment channels & rework the current channels to ensure better controls & effectiveness. Drive Salary related cost negotiations with candidates, Suppliers & other terms of engagement with internal & external clients. Ensure internal client’s critical manpower requirements are met & that the key talents are on board within the tight timelines with the least costs associated with the same. On-boarding & Induction: Conceptualise and deliver high impact on-boarding and induction programs to assimilate the new joinees into the global practices of the organisation. This will include creating and delivering structured induction programs, shadowing, team orientation and network building.
People Management: Staff, induct and train the HR team to support the significant business growth in the business plan period. Create training and development plan for team and develop team competencies to develop a capable and motivated team of professionals.
