JOB PURPOSE : Manage the assigned products lined through the entire product life cycle. Evaluate customer
product requests. Lead the product development resources to achieve cost targets and volume
expectations. Lead the product introduction. Assess competitive product offerings. Evaluate and
help prioritise plant SEPI cost reduction and process improvement opportunities. Handling the
MARCOM function activities. Reporting Structure: Managing Director <--- Manager - Marketing < --- Apaplications Engineer KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES : • Evaluate product line extension, modification requests from Bussmann’s sales team, and/or external customers. • Investigate, evaluate and prioritise requests from a market, financial, technical and Bussmann capability perspective. Report evaluation results back to requestor. • Prepare a business proposal for acceptable projects including target cost and sales price. • Evaluate product line cost reduction, modification, and process improvement
recommendations from the manufacturing team for market acceptability. • Lead or provide direction to the team through the concept, development, implementation
and market introduction for the product or product line.
• Provide the initial sales forecast, features benefits and performance data for product
literature.
• Evaluate and recommend changes in core product line to adapt to market change or to
penetrate new markets.
• Evaluate competitive product line offerings.
• Recommend product line changes as an outgrowth of new technologies.
• Co-ordinate product planning inputs to strategic and annual business plans. Maintain a five
year product plan.
• Handling the MARCOM function activities. KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS • Electrical/electronics degree level education from a reputed institution with experience in
the fusegear industry.
• Good communication skills
• Good application experience and skills in high-speed semiconductor fuses/ HV fuses.
• Knowledge and exposure to the market and Indian market conditions in the related field CONTACTS Industry, Dealer network, Sales team, Technical team and Manufacturing team. NATURE AND SCOPE The Product Manager must be able to understand the product line modification or extension requests to effectively translate or negotiate the requestor’s requirements into accomplishable
objectives. The product Manager needs to have knowledge of agency standards, code requirements, industry practices and present product performance capabilities.
The Product Manager needs an understanding of present Bussmann manufacturing technologies.
The Product Manager shall provide new product forecasts, benefits and features, pricing, performance data and training to the appropriate teams to allow them to interface with our customers.
The Product Manager will provide the bridge between the manufacturing team and our customers.
The Product Manager must have team leadership skills to accomplish his objectives without a direct reporting relationship. Manager must be able to accomplish tasks requiring activities in
marketing, Engineering and manufacturing.
