Supervise and coordinate all activities related to a production shift to maximize productivity and minimize cost and waste while maintaining quality and floor discipline ? Participate in setting objectives on productivity, efficiency, product quality, yields, personnel safety, sanitation, house keeping, scrap and waste generation control, Good Manufacturing process and equipment servicing and maintenance ? Ensure the implementation of all processes, policies, procedures and standards for ones department in relation to production plan. ? Establish, measure, monitor and adjust limits or levels of production capacity in order to execute all manufacturing schedules, production plan, master production schedule and material requirement plan ? Execute the daily production plan by distributing and scheduling manpower efficiently with specific work instructions for assigned tasks ? Coordinate and monitor production startups, changeovers and shutdown preparation, by arranging the finished goods, weighing the waste generated, and cleaning of all machines. Ensure that production lines start and stop on a pre-set time to achieve near zero production down-time ? On daily base, closely monitors the production of all products and makes sure that standard norms are adhered and complied ? Demonstrate equipment operations and work and safety procedures to new employees, or assign employees to experienced workers for training ? Oversee the shift schedule to include: work station assignments/rotations, employee training, employee vacations, employee breaks, overtime assignment, back-up for absent employees, and shift rotations ? Analyze production charts, work orders, production schedules, and other records and reports, in order to determine production requirements and to evaluate current production estimates and outputs ? Observe work, and monitor gauges, dials, and other indicators to ensure that operators conform to production or processing standards ? Make adjustments as necessary during shift to produce product within specifications and reject product outside of specifications ? Interpret specifications, blueprints, job orders, and company policies and procedures for workers ? Maintain personnel discipline and implement rules and procedures as set by the Production Manager and within the Company Rules and Procedures ? Identify discrepancies and recommend corrective actions for any deviation from daily production plan to production manager ? Prepare on daily base the End-of-Shift production report accurately, mentioning all out of line situations such as down time occurred, reasons, and corrective actions taken ? Make sure that proper housekeeping is maintained and complete shift paper work ? Assess employees and participate actively in their appraisals and counseling ? Report to Production Manager of any foreseen or potential problems and suggest solutions to prevent any interruption in the planned schedule of production. ? Monitor performance of direct reportees and guide them in managing their performance by providing appropriate feedback ? Allocate work to subordinates, nominate for training as per the organization’s guidelines and manage leave and overtime to ensure the efficiency of the group ?
