Job Description (paragraph explaining general job functions and responsibilities)
The Laboratory Supervisor will be responsible to run the day to day activities in the Mukhaizna field laboratory for full process control of oil, water, gas and steam through analytical testing. Directs and controls the work of the Chemists and Lab Technicians in the laboratory. Identifies and implements the analytical tests suitable for oil, water and gas testing and all maintenance of laboratory instrumentation and equipment. Writes the test and maintenance procedures in accordance with standard methods. Ensures competency of all Chemists and Lab Technicians through appropriate training. Interpretation of results and how they affect process efficiency and optimization. Provides the focal point for all analytical requirements for Mukhaizna. The Laboratory Supervisor responsibilities include but not limited to:
• Coordinate the analysis and monitoring of water and steam quality on a daily basis, including scale and solids, crude oil, gas, lube oil, and microbiological analysis. Paraffin, ashphaltene, and metal identification. Chemical testing and analysis.
• Coordinate Environmental compliance testing with onsite and Muscat/Governmental representatives.
• Provide for system quality control monitoring of water treatment equipment, crude oil treating facilities, potable water, steam generators, and falling film evaporators (MVCs).
• Ensure compliance with all company and governmental safety, environmental and health regulations and policies, procedures, standards and guidelines.
• Ensures competency of chemists and lab technicians
• Identifies developmental needs of chemists and lab technicians
